I actually wrote an article on "blogging 101" and what NOT to blog about: basically, nobody needs a blow by blow account of your boring life/day because nobody wants to read that, unless you have a stalker. There's just so much shit on the internet nowadays and interesting and good blogs are so hard to find. If one feels the need to glorify their day, at least do it humorously or with with. But there's nothing we can do, really, and we cant begrudge anyone that. Such is the democracy of the www. Meh.

omg tiff i just read your customer service entry about your job... WTF. That guy is such an asshole. I do the same thing though, I have a temper and it sometimes goes off and once it went off in a bank and i started yelling at the bank manager for hiring an incompetent mid-30s banker who didn't know shit about what he was doing and my dad threatened to pull out our entire assetts and the bank manager thought he was bluffing so she called his bluff but then when she tried to submit the paperwork to remove our account the headquarters called her and told her to back the fuck off because actually my dad is a "really good customer" of theirs.

anyway. my childhood was kind of quaint and boring and full of things like being chased by bees and nothing much exciting. i think more exciting stuff happens to me now, actually. probably also because i'm more extroverted now too though.

blogs should just be funny/entertaining or informative. i don't really care about the private lives of strangers but i read Susie Bubble obsessively (the fashion blog from a HK Londoner) and I check your blog whenever I remember because I know it'll be funny. I also check a few photo blogs because I know I'll like the photos and it's a great visual way of sharing stories.

I like your new theme/layout, it's cuute. also, are you still going for acting? I didn't make it to M.I.A., tickets were jacked up to $90 and they were originally $35 so I was fucked that up. I'm going to Ladytron & Datarock soon though... which makes me feel slightly better.

I think a lot of it depends on the motivation for the blog. I have to work on sites & discuss blogs (government blogs for that matter) all day long at work, so for me my blog is a total brain dump. Scrapbook, diary, and perhaps time-line. Because I understand what I want in my blog (connection with people who share my interests rather than a place where I can achieve some greater good or earn an income) I don't really share it with many "real life people" or at work as some example to follow. I respect those who have what I'd call "proper blogs." Informative, focused, clean, and more welcoming to the visitor rather than a girly self-indulgent blabfest like mine. (hahahahah)

lolz =)

so true. which is why i keep my blog short and twitter-like. my attention span flies around like... well, like a fly. i read the end, the headline, a sentence in the beginning, then like, one sentence in the middle. that's how i read this entry. that's how i read most entries.

OMG. I can't write about my childhood because I had a friend who was really messed up as a child. Raped, molested, abused... So I never had too much exciting childhood lives because I'd just keep her away from trouble as much as I could and I was very sheltered. Lol.

Um I do remember a specific time when I started middle school.

Ok so I went to middle school where it was combined with a high school.

So my first day I had this big fucking backpack and I brought all the school supplies that they asked to bring in my backpack and that shit was heavy like I was walking hunch backed. I never had any siblings old enough to tell me that you never had to take everything with you. So like a dork I brought that shit all with me.

One of my elementary classmates did the same thing, mind you, she was the only child too so she carried everything also, but she was a big girl so she could hold her own. She bitched about how her bag was heavy and I said me too, but being young she of course wanted to be the triumphant one, she told me "let me see" so she grabbed the handle, lifted it up and said "it's not heavy" then she let go and I fell back. On top of that, I was fucking on a 1 and a half foot curb and I was on the fucking ground like a turtle on my back swaying back and fourth trying to get up.

Fucking bitch. Then towards the end of my seventh grade year, her 300 pound ass fell on my left hand and it swelled to three times its size.

Did I mention that she was that big?!?!?!??!! OMG. HAHAHA. See you made me relive my childhood. LOL. *kicks.

LOL @ the subtitle.

It's interesting to see what the general consensus of your group discussion was. I agree with Leanne, the "why" matters. Some use their blogs as journal. Or others, like myself, just use it to type about subjects they're interested in.
But, I guess if you just want to please those who may (or may not) be reading. This post is a good guide.
