I can’t believe the number of dumbasses out here that wear Kanye West’s “shutter shades” casually as if they were actual sunglasses. Every time I see somebody wear that, I’m usually tempted to poke both of their eyes right through their shutter shades with my fingers all stealth-like and then say, “That wouldn’t have happened if you wore real sunglasses. Sucks doesn’t it?”
I don’t get it. They’re blinds in glasses form, except they don’t close. Why would you want to impair your vision by looking through blinds all day? Or even a better question…why would you want to wear them while driving? Or even a better question…why would you want to wear them and take a photo of yourself driving with them on while driving?
Yes, the caption does say “Driving with my shutter shades”…twice. Yes, he wasn’t kidding. And yes, this is what he sees when he has them on, I shit you not:

If my memory serves me correctly, weren’t the originals back in the 80s were transparent? And some of them actually “shuttered” so that you could close and open them? Which means they weren’t AS pointless as the ones we have now? haha.

I like the shutter shades however they are impractical for everyday use- including driving.
I’m sure Kanye himself doesn’t use those shits when he’s driving- he’s probably only wearing them when he’s clubbing or doing a performance or making a music video.
Seriously, that guy should be arrest for being a dumb ass to not think they would impair his vision. It’s sad how people go overboard with trying to be “fly”.

Lol you wrote this just when I was wondering about the same thing. I wouldn’t wear this when I am driving definitely. It is too dangerous. But I have seen girls wearing them as a fashion statement more than anything else.

I prefer to think of those shades as an “ironic statement.”
Example: Man, it’s like everything is barrier. Everything. Sight is a barrier, too. My sight is a fucking prison. Why not imprison my eyes and get it over with?

it obvious that the gullible and uneducated are the ones buying into these fads. and based on his typing, there is no question which of those two groups he belongs. try reading a book and you might be able to type sentences and use complete words when you grow up. oh and when you “try” to read a book, take the shutter shades off first.
