I haven’t been blogging as often as I’d use to because I have school now (and possibly playing too much of Left 4 Dead). It’s really weird to go back to school after not going last semester. I still bump into people I know from past classes, and the first thing most of them said to me was, “You’re hair is so long, oh my gosh.”
I guess it’s time for a trim?
I have a portfolio design class and the point of the class is to build your art portfolio by coming up with designs that the professors throws at you and…that’s basically it. She assumes we already got our Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator/InDesign shit down, so she’d usually give us these wonderfully short lectures which lasts no longer than ten minutes, and then we’re all on our own. I love it.
We just sit there, designing awesome shit, and making conversation with our classmates if we wanted to. Most of my classmates are pretty awesome too, well at least the two guys I sit in between. They get my jokes. The guy on the left started playing one of my current obsessions that is Left 4 Dead, and the one on the right is currently reading World War Z. Oh yes, could this be fate unraveling right before our eyes to construct the absolute zombie-genocidest squad?
As for the assignment, we have to redesign the whole look of the animal cracker box. It sounds boring at first, but since the professor isn’t the kind of person to stifle our creativity, we can do whatever we want. Here’s what I have so far:

Another class I’m taking is Beginning Vietnamese. What’s funny about this one is that there are two different types of people that make up this class:

Asian chicks and White older men. Look, I’m not insinuating anything. Ok, well maybe I am. We all want one thing…and that is to learn the Vietnamese language. Amirite?

You’re lucky you get to take some fun classes! That and sitting next to a cool guy who just randomly pulls up your fave game is F-A-T-E. it looks like a situation with a lot of potential!

Yeah, that sounds about right. I’ve noticed in the Japanese classes at my school, everyone in the class is either white or white. Everyone in my french classes is either a Korean girl or Spanish. I feel like the only African kid who did not learn french from their maman or their papa like they should have.

School has been getting the better out of a lot of us it seems.
Your design is great. I’d so wear that Barnums box. (I use to wear the Barnums Animal Cookie box as a purse since it had the string) Oo0H. Do you only design the box? Or can you design the stringy thing too?

i haven’t tried Left 4 Dead yet, but my bro told me the gameplay’s like Dead Space (if u’ve heard of it) because the zombies run after you as well. pretty cool. im hooked to Call of Duty though, i get all wired up everytime i play it. haha.
i like your design…ive been working on something similar…sort of grunge-vintage like…heehee

Beginners for Vietnamese??? There’s such a course??? I should take it to sharpen my Vietnamese, since I hardly have it to speak with anyone anymore, I’m beginning how to forget how to formulate harder conversations. *sigh*

Design school sounds like my dream come true. I guess I should think about it, since currently I am “soul searching”
And it’s always so cool if you find someone who understands insider jokes. I yet have to find someone, but I still believe.

I like the design. Could probably use some font changes though, since I don’t really care for the font of “Crackers” and “Calcium”. Maybe taking away the swirl brushes too – or even changing the opacity? Your class sounds fun. I like when you can relate to your classmates. It’s good to share similar interests, so you can share conversation.

I need to start learning Vietnamese so I can talk to my boyfriend’s parents but I keep on putting it off. Learning a new language is so intimidating!
Your Animal Cracker design looks interesting.. it’s a cool concept and steps away from the mainstream bright-and-happy look.

i like what you’ve got so far for the animal crackers.
i guess my only suggestion would be more color? needs to be more eye popping. what would make someone pick this up at a store and go wow!how about red and yellow. hey, it worked for mcdonalds!
