Will update more on life later, for now, two very important things of kickassery:
1.
I went to Comic-Con International in San Diego for my second time, and I’ve finally did what I’ve always wanted to do…costume play! Yeah, that’s right, I’m a grown-up and I dressed up for a geek convention…and I liked it.
I was dressed up as the female counterpart of Kakashi from Naruto. My buddy, Pris, was dressed as the female Joker (her makeup looked friggen’ SICK), and my other buddy, Jason, was also a Naruto character. The two other guys, Mina (Pris’s fiance) and Matt (my boyfriend), were dressed up as humans. Original? I think so.
I had a blast. I saw other cool geeks dressed up. I saw lots of cool gizmos and gadgets. And since I was dressed up, a lot of people took photos with me. There was a point where I was alone, and just out of the blue, people, in large groups, were taking photos of me, complimenting on my costume and my red “sharingan” contact. I never had this kind of “celebrity” treatment before, and I ain’t gotta lie, it felt kind of nice to be noticed and to have the flash going off in your face as if you were getting mauled by the paparazzi.
The downside of this experience was not being able to go to a panel, namely The Big Bang Theory sitcom. Also, my ninja mask. I was sweating profusely in there. And I wore the mask prior to the convention so much (for fun) that it loosened up, and I had to tape it inside during the event. Gah.
All in all, it was fun, and I got to spend it with my closest friends. I certainly can’t wait to attend and dress up for Comic-Con 2010. Shwing!

2. Last night, I had my sister cut a huge portion of my hair so I can give it away. My new do is very bold and obviously, very drastic, but I’m really in love with my new haircut. It’s different!

Do I miss it?
Not even. Hell, I’d even cut it up eyes, but since my face is kind of prominent with a bit of a masculine touch, people might mistaken me for a dude, or a lesbian.

will you be my girlfriend. k thank ^_^

Looks like you had fun, and your costume looked great too! I was thinking about going to the Con this year (it would have been neat to meet you!) but I didn’t have the time to. Oh well.
Love the new haircut, I think it suits you well! I’m working on growing mine out now, but I kind of miss when I had it super short about a year ago.
Cheers!

Hey thanks Tiff (man, it’s so weird to refer somebody else as “Tiff”)!
Yeah I think it would have been pretty neat to meet you, heck, it would be neat to meet another Tiff haha.
Are you going to Blizzcon by any chance?

Agreed!
Man, I’m still debating whether I should go to PAX or not. I’ve been splurging so much this summer, not sure if I should purchase a plane ticket, but my boyfriend is going. haha
Heyyy it looks like you had lots of fun! Some of my co-workers went I think (2 old pharmacist and a technician haha). I love your costume! You look great.
Oh and I love the new do. I would cut my hair that short .. but it would make my face look super round. (I have a chubby face haha).

I don’t even like Naruto but that was a REALLY good costume. =D I didn’t see you around Comic Con though, but then again it was a pretty packed place during the weekend wasn’t it?
You have much more courage than I do. I could never cut my hair that short. I’m not even used to hair being elbow length, much less than that. One day I’ll get the courage. xD

i absolutely envy you right now!

Wow. I love your costume! That sounds like it was really fun. I’ve always wanted to do something like that but all of the people that I know aren’t into the same things I am.
I think your hair looks very nice. I don’t think that your face has a masculine touch at all.

Omggggggggggg!!! That was bold as hell. But the new style is so refreshing. It makes you look younger and edgy! Are you donating your hair?

Thanks! And yes, I’m going to be donating it

Love your costume! Haha I’ve heard of Naruto before because my brother used to watch it. Other than that, I’m usually unfamiliar with the characters that usually do cosplay.
And your hair IS drastically different! You make it work though
And I think it’s great that you’re giving it away.

Oh my god, you cut your hair! It looks so great! That’s so awesome of you to donate all your beautiful long hair. And the she-Kakashi cosplay was awesome!

That sounds sooo exciting! Your costumes were amazing, too!
Especially yours….I thought it was real! (no…I keed I keed!) But your red eyeball = awesomeness-incarnate
As far as the magazine, I’m plannning on having about five pages for five categories or whatever….fashion, web design, writing, news articles, and easy-to-do recipes. But I mean, when I wrote the blog entry, I was “just thinking out loud” …thinking no one would seem interested in it.
If you’d like to help out, with ideas or articles or something, just let me know

Hey Katy!
I actually think you can pull that off. Maybe you’re so use to having your hair long most of the time, that you can’t imagine any other drastic hair style on you?
You should definitely try it, or at least get bangs. I think you’d look really cute w/ them

wow you seriously do look like an anime!! that’s so cool. and nice haircut.

Your haircut is fierce!
As for Comic-Con, can you imagine I had never heard of it until you blogged about it last year? This year, whenever I’d hear anyone mention it, I’d think back to your blog. …at least I think it was your blog. It’d be funny if the next thing you say is “I’ve never blogged about Comic-Con before.”
