Is it just me or is there something hilarious yet so utterly insulting and frustrating about the obvious photoshopped noses you’d see in magazines, ads and posters?
Yes, it can be funny because it’s one of the easiest things in the world to catch when you’re not even trying (at least for me). No matter how gifted of a photoshop-nose-thinner you are, it’ll always look ridiculous. People are excellent at recognizing and remembering faces. Namely the nose because it’s smack dab in the center; one little digital alteration to the nose a five-year-old will be able to point it out and then probably say “Why is there an invisDIBle hand plugging her nose daddy????” (Ok not really).
It’s also offensive because every other body part that actually needs editing usually comes from a particular habit, lifestyle, behavior–not genetics–or at least something that you can change and “improve” naturally. Acne and pimples? Eat less pringles and stop stressing. Flabby arms? Listen to Eye of the Tiger while bench pressing. And wider noses? Uh, sorry…but you you were born with that one.
So not only is it unappealing to carry even a little extra baggage in photos, but your nose–the thing you can’t change without plastic surgery–has to be small, thin and perfect–if not they’ll just slice it off with Photoshop (or hire an invisible hand).
Basically, you can’t look human. That’s just unacceptable. I mean, check out these fine mannequins women:

I’ve honestly never bothered paying attention or looking at noses! Usually when it comes to Photoshopped images, I notice the body and “perfect” skin before anything else. Never thought to look at noses but based on the images you showed, now that you mentioned it, I can see the difference. It’s a shame we live in this world where you’re not considered beautiful unless your body and facial features is perfect.

Haha, the first thing I look for in a photo is not the nose. Well, I don’t “look” for anything, I see the face as a whole and if a facial feature has been changed, it will look very off to me, then I’d catch where the change has been made.
But yeah, it’s a shame in’t? I’m perfectly fine with photoshopping unwanted pimples or scars, but c’mon, why change the nose? Why make your whole body thinner? Shame on them.

I’ve seen blogs where the girl spent 2hr/pic photoshopping her .. everything.
I usually notice the skin too.. sometimes it’s not skin-like and that bothers me. but noses.. now I’ll be staring at noses all week

I didn’t look at your nose either. I was looking at the food then I read the post title and thought, damn I must be so hungry that I can’t even pay attention. I don’t photoshop my photographs I take or any photographs of myself. I like things to be as they are. No lies or deception.

I mean when I Photoshop the photographs I take the only thing I do is change the filters, tones, saturation, or exposure to get a certain effect. But I never alter the models because I prefer them as they are.

Sometimes, people just.. Photoshop the heck outta themselves. And its ridiculous. Unless some part is altered like… A pimple removed, its okay.
Because its temporary.
As long as you have a nose, you`re perfectly normal.
Just don`t go overboard. Paris Hilton has a fake nose .__.!
I always photoshop the black rings around the bags on my eyes
. Even if I sleep early, still happens. Or does it? :O!
