I’m warning you guys just to say that this is going to be a pretty useless rant. It’s about one of my first world problems…it’s about my hair.
Ok, now that I feel significantly less guilty, this certainly isn’t the first time I’ve had shorter hair, but now I’m just starting to become pretty fed up with it. I generally love cutting my hair short when it gets too long because I get to donate it every time, “change” is nice and most importantly, it gives my mom and her sister-in-laws something to be disgusted about.
“Oh, you cut your hair? You so ugly now!”
“Oh, you cut your hair? Who you tryin’ to be, Rady Gaga?”
But what I truly find annoying about having short hair is constantly having to style it every time I get out of the shower or every time I wake up in the morning.
But who says you have to style it all the time? Leave it the way it is.
See, this is where you all are wrong! When my short hair is left in its natural state, a slight wave or curvature forms towards the bottom and it curves in very unattractive ways (ohhhh poor me). When I don’t do my hair, it looks like this:
Whereas, when I had longer hair I was allowed not to care. I use to be able to let it be because it was long. With my kind of hair, you can get away with all kinds of shit as long the hair was not short.
After taking this photo, I decided to style it like any other normal human being who cares about their looks–would do. And by style, all I did was use a flat-iron to curve the both the hair and bangs inside. Then I combed and hairspray’d my bangs (it hates the wind!).
Even though my makeup stayed the same, my skin looks pale in this picture because there’s more light in the room. But anyway, styling my hair temporarily gave me 20/20 vision and altered my horse teeth, and it made me become a better person overall.
