I thought it’d be a good idea to show you guys one of the little hobbies that I do on my spare time, instead of uh, creating an entirely new blog for it. I’ve posted pictures of the other gundams I’ve built in the past, but never went into greater detail with them. And there’s no such thing as “gundam barbies” by the way–that’s just how I see them especially when they tend to be cute and pink. What I’m about to show you, pretty much falls into that category (its got flowers shooting out of itself for god’s sake!).

I had a day off on New Year’s Day, so I decided to use that time to finally build Farsia together, which was collecting dust in my closet. This is the box that It came with and I’m so glad I have it because it’s became one of my all-time favorite mobile suits. It’s elegant, beautiful and appears to be alien-technology!

These are all the pieces and sets that were in the box. Not too intimidating compared to to model kits that have a higher grade. Also, I kind of love how my pink & black pliers match the colors of the pieces.

Working on the chest piece. It looks good already like that. I believe, if I could glue it on the end of a pink stick then it’d make for a good Sailor Moon scepter.

Helppppp, I need legs! It may look simple but there are a lot of small parts that make up the upper portion of the suit. It took me over an hour to do this part.

This isn’t even my final form yet.

It took me close to four hours to complete everything. I even tried to drybrush the armor so it would appear more “dirty”, but it turned out ok overall. I just need to brush up on my painting skills! For more photos, check out my Flickr!

i bet if i can learn how to do that i can build some ikea furniture…

I’ve never seen gundams before…but now I want to build some!
My little 365 photoblog project will have a self portrait every month, so no hair dye color will be missed this year!

Haha that looks awesome!
I want to build something like that too
I always like assembling things, but when they get too complicated I tend to put it off for later eek
Close to 4 hours? That’s quite long huh, anyway it looks nice!

Man I have always wanted to build one!!! I am so slow with doing things I would probably leave the model in the box for a year and forget about it DX

Silly me. Here I am, I thought I couldn’t read Japanese. It did come in pink and black though so I thought it was for realz. LOL. I remember my brother putting together Gundams in the past. I think he painted one of them one time.

I used to build Gundams too! I haven’t in a long time though
I love the colors and design of Farsia. What a pretty Gundam! That’s awesome that it has a platform with flowers springing out of it XD

that’s pretty cool!
I haven’t really made models before. My ex housemate use to make models all the time and I always enjoyed just watching him tentatively put the parts together and paint it with his tiny brush. So meditative!

That does not look easy to make at all. I’m amazed by this. XD And the final product came out so cool looking.

My best friend likes building Gundams. It looks like a nice hobby to get into, except that Gundams are too damn expensive here

That’s pretty cool. Me and my sister are gundam fans after accidentally discovering the series in the library. I’ve never been into model kits but this might be something I could get interested in.
Great pictures and great assembly.
I like how your pliers match as well. ^_^

This is sick, Tiff! I love when stereotypically macho and girly worlds colide. Those flowers on the box remind me of Staryu. Does the figurine move like a ball-joint-doll? Where do you buy your kits? This looks pretty difficult, but you did a great job. How many have you made in the past?
