I had a wonderful birthday yesterday. I spent it with all of the people that I love. They also got me incredible and creative birthday gifts, let’s do a little show-and-tell shall we?

1. Animal Pixel Painting — Whoa! Totally did not expect to get this painting simply because it was already sold out! But it turns out, my boyfriend bought this painting before I even posted it on my entry. What a sneaky guy, but hey, he definitely knows what I like.

(The rest of the gifts I’m about to list were all from my amazing buddy Jules, thank you love!)

2. Pink floral clutch-bag — It’s probably just a makeup bag by default, but I think it would also make a great clutch/purse. I lurve it!

3. Wired bow headband — This is really neat! Since the bow is made out of wires, I’m able to shape the bow to however I want. Hell to the yeah.

4. Hello Kitty sketch book — This is such a good quality Hello Kitty sketch book that I’m too intimidated to even draw in it. The cover has a weaving texture to it, and the design is very simple but extremely adorable nonetheless.

5. Purple Victorian picture frame — It has photos of good-looking white people in it!

6. Egg light — Yes, it is an egg and when you press the yolk it lights up. Muchly needed for my kind of egglectic life.

8. Cozy Pink Socks — If you look up “cute” in the dictionary, you should be able to find a picture of these.

9. Pink “Crackle” nail polish & Confetti nail polish — Holy shit! This nail polish is CRAZY pink and they CRACK-A-LACK when you paint them on yo nails! I’m really excited to try them. The glitter ones are also really bitchin’ too. C’mon old paint nail polish, chip the fuck off already.

10. Gigantic Pen disguised as a Gigantic Microphone — I…I…I-I am lost for words.

We were meant to be together.

Well, that about wraps it up! Thank you for my boyfriend and Jules for the spectacular birthday gifts. I seriously cannot wait to play with my new favorite toys.

This is the second convention I’ve been to this month and I’m already tired. Last weekend we attended Comic-Con in Long Beach, and of course, we had a blast.

That's what you call a Jubilee Punch.

My friend Jules went as old school Jubilee from X-Men, her husband Tony went has a trekkie, and I went as Nico Minoru from Runaways. Before we left, I told her, “No one’s going to recognize me…but they are totally going to recognize you.” And of course, I was right. It was her first time dressing up and I was very proud of her and the kind of attention she garnered with her costume. Everywhere we went, there was always some random nerd shouting off to the side, “Oh my god, it’s Jubilee!”, “JUBILEE!”, “Dude, it’s Jubilee.” The wonderful expressions in their faces, it’s like they found Christmas morning or something. Yup, I think she won Comic-Con.

PEW PEW I GOT THIS.

This convention is a lot smaller then the one in San Diego, but I liked it because Long Beach is far less packed. Yes, the area is smaller, but it was more intimate. I’m pretty sure everyone got to see everyone, no comicbook artist–no costume was missed, not even the celebrities. Thomas Jane (starred in The Mist, Deep Blue Sea, and The Punisher) was there. He was wearing sunglasses and sitting behind a booth, nobody was bugging him, so I approached him for a picture. I sensed from him that he was probably disappointed that his sunglasses didn’t make him invisible from his fans and/ possibly hungover, but you can’t fool me Thomas Jane!

He said he liked my "homemade" staff.

Here are a couple of more random pictures from the event, for more info hover your mouse over the image you want. If you want to see more of my costume, click here!

For the next convention, I’m hoping to pull off Surge from X-Men. This will definitely be more hands-on then my Nico costume, since I will be trying to make at least the crazy clunky metal gloves and armor top myself.

Bring on the migraines, punk.

Every year, Blizzcon gives away goodie bags to each of the attendees. Besides a loot card and a stack of useless flyers, for this year, we received a badass little guy:  Tyrael from Diablo 3. He’s kind of adorable and I’m pretty excited to put him next to Deathwing (which was last year’s toy).

We also a got a mini Thrall.

The Horde earrings were not part of the goodie bag, but I bought it from this Etsy shop. I bought them so I can wear ‘em to Blizzcon, but they arrived a little late. And boy was I glad I didn’t get them in time because some old lady was wearing the same ones at Blizzcon, and well, I wouldn’t be caught dead matching earrings with granny over here.

This isn’t related to anything “Blizzard”, but here’s a preview of my costume for Long Beach Comic-Con (which is coming up this weekend):
