And after working ten hours, I got off of work and hung out with two of my good friends. They also satisfied my bubble tea-needs–they insisted! Thank you for supporting my wonderful addiction, guys.

Ah, life is kind of cool sometimes.

If you’ve never been to a Renaissance Faire, I highly suggest going at least once in your lifetime. It’s nice to experience a different time period and culture and be surrounded by super Renaissance nerds.

It’s a silly thing to say but ever since I’ve been with him, I’ve been slowly running out of things to write about.  Trust me, I would love to update this blog regularly like I use to (when I was single ha!), but I suppose when you’re me, being a girlfriend doing girlfriendy things, the creative part of your brain simply shuts down and replaces it with a big sodding writer’s block.

Now that I’m creatively inept and retarded, I only can show you what I’ve been up to lately by sharing a few pictures:

(had a blast at Comic-Con ’10 and got to meet Michael Sheen!)

My boyfriend took me to all of these exciting events (except the first one) this year and I am very grateful. Oh yes, I have an awesome-mind-stealing boyfriend.

Now what might be some of those kickass things I will be doing that’s so kickass for the summer you ask?

Well, I’m decorating my new bedroom (hey I consider that to be kickass thanks). I want my bedroom to scream…ohhh I don’t know…five-year-old girl with a sick and twisted fucked-up mind? Mebbe. I bought a bedroom set that’s actually meant for younger girls (lol);  it’s really adorable, has a pure cottage-vintagey taste to it, however, I’m planning to add certain things that will add a touch of creepiness to it, just a touch (An understatement? Mebbe).

I’ve already purchased two adorable plush taxidermy from T&A Friendly for my wall:

Next week, I will be going to Las Vegas for the first time for my brother’s fiance’s bachelorette party.  Part of the trip includes seeing Thunder Down Under, which I am a little nervous by, just ’cause I’m not so much turned on by male strippers. I think they’re gross.  I rather, very much, check out female strippers as oppose to seeing a squad of male strippers completely stripped of their manliness-doing awkward stripper dance routines to which I consider is more feminine.

Then there is my brother’s wedding.  And I get to have their place in Santa Ana all to myself for a couple of days when they’re at their honeymoon. There will be lots of furniture shopping, museums to check out, and foods to eat.

Lacuna Coil show in Hollywood with my kickass friends. Three goals I have for the show is to:

1. Rock out really hard with friends.
2. Not get hurt.
3. To add more deadliness into a deadly mosh pit by performing a roundhouse kick of death (but that could conflict with goal #2 wouldn’t it?)

And the best of all, Comic-Con and Video Games Lives in San Diego!  Will be dressing up as the female counterpart of Kakashi from Naruto!!

I played the Left4Dead 2 demo, and so far, it feels like it should be an expansion pack of the first Left4Dead because nothing has changed significantly. It was exactly like playing the original Left4Dead, but with added maps, characters, and weapons. I don’t think Valve is that dumb enough to create another copy just to make extra buck, but we’ll see.

Regardless, I’m looking forward to getting to know the new characters. They look really fun! Let’s see, you have a guy sporting an 80′s Miami Vicey outfit; some say he bears a striking resemblance to Julian McMahon from Nip/Tuck. You have this huge black man, who I think is freakin’ adorable, boy is he adorable! He’s the kind where you just want to give a big bear hug and tell him that everything’s going to be ok. You have a hot lookin’ white guy probably in his 20′s…that’s all I have to say about him so far. And finally, a chick, who already reminds me of Zoey because they’re the only girls in the game and they’re wearing pink, but I’m praying that she isn’t just a black version of Zoey, ’cause I’ll be damned if I have to hear another dumb movie quote again.

The special infected haven’t really changed except for tank (that I notice). Tank looks like a giant hillbilly wearing gawdamn overalls.  But what I like about the new and improved(?) tank is he’s capable of picking your body up and slamming it to the ground. Beautiful.

L4D 2 comes out on November 17th this year (my birthday!).

I played a lot of other games, so much that my wrist started to hurt.  Some games and trailers I played and/ saw at E3 that attracted me the most were Uncharted 2, God of War III, Modern Warfare 2, Mag, Scribble Nauts and a few other games I can’t think of at the top of my head.

Now the important question is…how can I find all the time to play all of this when they come out?

Last Saturday was Long Beach’s first annual Zombie Walk and “Shaun of the Dead” screening, and I went as a rotting zombie Chinese girl.  Even though my buddies and I were a little bit late for the actual walk, we had such a great time.  The feeling of being in the same area and/room with countless of other zombie fans who are also dressing the “undead” part was quite the delight!

Oh yeah, funny story.  You see that photo of me and the Marvel zombified version of Captain America? I just found out yesterday that we actually know each other online!  But we didn’t recognize each other while the event was in progress. I knew this because he ended up posting a comment on that photo on Flickr that reads, “Hey! That was you???” HA!

I will be ending this entry with a quick video of my friends and I dancing on stage in front of the crowd of cheering zombies.

Note: I was trying to do the zombot (zombie + robot), but the guys had surely beat me with their own gnarly twitching, limping, zomberific dance moves. After the camera stopped recording, the audience was cheering and applauding boisterously, I couldn’t ask for anything better. Acutally, yes, I wish that moment was recorded. =(

Oh well, better than nothing, enjoy!

First, I completed my first ever thing on 101 Things, which is to “help out a church.” I know, kind of random of me, but it’s one of the things I really wanted to do just to see if I can break out of my comfort zone. A week ago, I read in a bulletin that one of the churches nearby my house was holding a Hawaii themed fashion show to which I (nervously) volunteered as a model.  The fashion show took place last Saturday and I had a blast.

99% of the audience were women of 55 years and older, and I gotta tell you guys, the only kind of people I actually like showing off to is older ladies, because they can really make you feel like you’re the greatest gift to humanity; anything you do in front of them is quite possibly the most amazing thing they have ever seen in their entire lives. When I was eight I did a half-assed cartwheel in front of grandma once and she nearly had a heart attack, the good kind, since she told me I should’ve tried out for the Olympics as a gymnast. Thanks grandma.

As I was weaving through the tables, strutting my conservative-spring-like-Hawaii outfits for the audience, most of the little ol’ ladies were just in absolute awe.  It was quite flattering and adorable.

Second, I found a really neat museum in Santa Ana.  There were two houses and two separate gardens, and apparently nothing’s been changed since the Victorian era. Their gardens are breathtaking. The first one was rather small, half of it was a rose garden and the other half held rows of orange trees.

The second “garden” was huge that I don’t think it should be even called a garden. It had a lot of little hills which was mostly covered in a field of small sunflowers. As you walk deeper into the hills, there’s an area that looks much like a forest, and what’s amazing about this particular spot is it looked like it was snowing. I don’t know what it was, but the air was laden with either pieces of white bird feathers (there were a lot of plucked bird feathers on the ground it was really creepy) or those little dandelion fluffs.

And last but certainly not least, after the fashion show, Jules and I headed to a Street Fighter tribute art show and tournament called Jab Strong Fierce (thanks to Matt who I didn’t get a chance to see that night lol).

They had a really fun costume play contest. Each character had to introduce themselves to the crowd by demonstrating insane fight moves. One of the Chun-Lis though came out and just stood there and only said, “Hi, I’m Chun-Li and this is my outfit!” and spun around to show the rest of her costume. BOOOOOOO! While the rest of the Chun-Lis, the more thick and curvaceous ones, came out with a boom, they yelled shit like, “HIYA!”, power kicked and power punched the air and showed us what Chun-Li truly looked like. And the two who were tied had to fight it out for second place haha it was great.

Before the tournament you were allowed to play for fun and whatever you were playing was projected to a much bigger screen so that everyone else in the art exhibit could watch. Besides playing the original Street Fighter in first grade I’ve never really played it before, so I was not planning to play at all in front of a live audience, until the guy who lost the last round stood up and suggested that I take the controller. The guy who I was suppose to play against (mind you he’s in the tournament and he’s suppose to be really good) looked at me and pointed to the empty seat that was next to him.

“No..n-n-no,” I tried to put the controller back, “I’ve never played this before.” Jules, from behind, shoved me into the seat and I found myself playing SF for the first time with a SF tournament competitor while the world was watching (at least it felt like it). I told him to go easy on me so we started every round with his health only a quarter full while mine was completely full. I lost once, and wanted to facepalm in real life (photo below).

As for the actual tournament, it was very entertaining and is probably one of the most intense games I had ever witnessed in my 21 years of being on this earth.  I had fun.

This year, yesterday, to be exact, I skipped portfolio class to check out his new material at the Brea Improv.  Man, he really is hilarious, and most importantly, at the end of the show, I manned up and told him that his new material was awesome, took pictures with him and told him that he was tall (yeah, i don’t know, that’s all I could think of at the given moment).

Also, my monster is complete!

I am probably going to make a layout out of it soon, so watch out for that. I kind of need a new layout anyway because I noticed that I tend to blog more often when the layout is fresh. The older my website layout gets, the less I write. Haha, and I don’t know why.

My friends and I went there last night.  We ate, we drank, and played Dirty Minds which is a board game I’m not very good at because my mind is usually in the gutter and it can never really get out unless somebody explains it to me.

We also took pictures.  It took us about fifty shots to get one good photo where all of our faces were kept straight and oh so serious (we wanted to imitate those really old creepy photos where no one ever smiles), but even my face in there was a complete joke that Matt thought I was trying to hold in my farts.

On to school, remember that Vietnamese class I was talking about? Well I have a white man sitting next to me, probably in his mid-late forties.  He refers me as “em” which is in Vietnamese, can be used as a term of endearment or correct me if I’m wrong, it can also be used generally for younger people, right? He also told me I was naughty in Vietnamese once.  Yeah, I uh…have no idea where that came from, but I thought that was a little weird.

I also made a new friend in that class, and she’s pretty cool so far.  She can’t see red colors because she’s partially colorblind.  The last time I had class with her, she wore a red long sleeve shirt, so I informed her, “You know you’re wearing green right?” LOLZ.

We (about 18 of us) started the night by eating at Elephant Bar. I was sitting in the middle so I got to interact with both sides of the table. One side kept on talking about how incredible “Slumdog Millionaire” was so, of course, they left me no choice but to butt in and say, “Dude, I’m so with you on that. Remember the part where little Jamal raised his arm in the air with the photo of that one Indian actor, screaming at the top of his lungs and he’s like, covered in shit? That was awesome.”

The other side of the table was telling jokes at one point. I’ve been told that I can do a very convincing accent of an annoying Chinese man, so I did say a couple of things to them, in that particular accent, and they got a kick out of it. It reconfirmed that I do, in fact, possess a magnificent gift of impersonating a stereotypical Chinese man.

My friend, Jason, and I shared a large plate of fried shrimps together. The food was good. Not bad, not amazing, but good. As for our waitress, shit, talk about having a stick up her ass. She didn’t like us! It was odd because none of us were being anal or impolite to her. When we asked her for something, her facial expression would change from slightly grumpy to extremely petulant. When I asked for a to-go box she would come back 15 minutes later with nothing in her hands!

Perhaps it is the burden of catering to a large group of 18, but still, she should have at least put on a fake smile or something and not emit her bitchassness towards us.

To make up for her dreadful service and lack of civility, we got her to take some photos of us. Here’s one of them:

I’d say that’s a damn good photo. Thank you waitress, you just might be able to redeem yourself…now give me a gawddman to-go box so I can eat my shrimp leftovers for lunch tomorrow!

After dinner we headed towards the Embassy Suites for the hotel party. Since we weren’t able to hook up the Wii to their TV, we decided to play some drinking games. The first was King’s Cup. I’ve played that a few times before, and this one, in particular, was the most entertaining, the most hysterical King’s Cup I had ever played…ever. I wish I can explain what had happen in detail, but it wouldn’t be that funny on paper, it’s more like, ya had to be there type of stuff. But what I will say is that there has never ever been a time where I didn’t pick the 4th King. Never, and that kind of blows for me.

I recorded a great video of Pris getting sprayed by silly strings at the hotel, and also edited it to make it more entertaining. But I’ve been trying to upload it on Youtube for the last several times, and it doesn’t seem to be uploading it. Bleh! What a bitch. I will post the video once I find a solution. For now, enjoy the “teaser stills”.
