Hey all, if you guys haven’t noticed, I rarely talk about my experiences with acting here. As much as I’d love to divulge about my little acting adventures, I just don’t think it belongs here on this site. Tiffsbloggy is where I can really be myself and talk about whatever kind of shit I want, without having to worry about people, who I work with on professional basis, find this site (people google everything)…and possssibly get offended or feel slight awkwardness by some of my entries.

Every acting-related topics will go directly to this spanking new website:

(clicky on the picky to get a linky)

Since I’m still going to school don’t expect consistent updates on there.

I also realized that every domain name I’ve purchased in the past two years has my name in front of it. So just to clarify, I’m not a narcissist who’s completely in love their own name, I just like er…owning things and letting people know that I owned taht shit!

Ex: “Yeah, I own a bloggy, it’s my bloggy. See my name on it? Say hi to your mutha fo me.”

My internet has been out for the last few days, still is, but I’m glad it went out because I was obligated to do stuff that doesn’t involve sitting in front of a computer all day.

I wasn’t sure if it was just lack of motivation or just plain laziness, but I haven’t been looking for acting gigs lately, and recently, something (probably not having internet at home) has lit a fire under my ass to get back to finding work.

Two days ago I was using a relative’s computer, and found an online ad from a casting company that was looking to cast actors in certain projects.  I emailed them my headshots and resume and they eventually emailed me back with their phone number.  I called them to set an appointment, and the next thing you know, I’m having lunch with them an hour later.

They were two guys or, or two business partners/casting directors who were in the process of establishing a casting firm.  We talked for over an hour and most of it was just about their company and wah wah wahh.  But like every talent manager, agent, casting director or any person I first meet in the entertainment industry, I can’t trust them entirely, at least not yet.  There are, unfortunately, tons of sketchy businesses out there that are only in it for some quick cash, and I had dealt with one already in the past.

There was a very small one-time fee and after asking them a couple of questions I had agreed to pay the fee and sign their contract as an actress and…a model (during the discussion they persuaded me to sign up for modeling, so I’m like “I guess, extra money right?”).  The following day, I had already gotten a call from the main guy and he wanted his photographer friend to take my headshots and then have me do a reading because there was already a part he could see me playing in some film that has already been funded.

So I did all of that today, and I don’t know! I feel sorta good. SORTA.  Well, good as an I might be able to trust these guys, but at present, my guard is still up.  As for the reading, I think I could’ve done a lot better, so I honestly don’t think I got the part haha. But that’s fine; there will be many more opportunities to come.

Yesterday, I did a full day shoot with my photographer friend Chris.  Man, I was so pooped by the end of the night, but overall I had a great time shooting.  And overall, I had a productive weekend.

Here are some of my favorite photos (more in my Flickr):

Is there such a word that means the opposite of writer’s block? Because I think I’m getting it and I feel like I have to get it all out of my system before my head blows up. I have 101 things I want to talk about and right now, nothing would be more fulfilling than to sit in front of my computer all day and just type away.

Sadly, it’s going to be a busy day for me, so I can’t really release my inner beast of nonstop, hardcore mad typage. Maybe some other time, but I will make this one brief (since it’s a “what-I-did-on-the-weekends” type of entry).

My Avex audition, which was last Sunday, didn’t go according to plan…haha. I had a prepared monologue that I wrote myself, studied it for a couple of days, and thought that I had it in the bag. I rehearsed right before it was my time to audition; everything seemed pretty peachy…up until I went on stage!

I completely forgot everything I had memorized when I was up in front of the panel. I was basically making shit up as I went! The talent search is going to be in New York this weekend, so I don’t think I’m going to find out whether I move to the next level or not for a couple of weeks.

Oh yeah, and the audition was held at that mall on Hollywood Blvd, next to the Chinese theater. When I was there, there was like, a red carpet event for the dvd release of Kung Fu Panda going on during my audition, and it took place right outside of the mall.  I didn’t know this until the day after but…fucking Angelina Jolie was there! And I could’ve seen her hotness in person, after my audition….FUCK!

Right after my audition, I had to go to a photoshoot for the last film that I was in.  The photographer (the guy holding the guns in the picture) took some great photos of the cast and myself. There were over 600 frames shot, but I only have about five of them! Gah! I want the rest gawdamnit!
